Livelihood Rights

Through Right to Livelihood we are involved in ensuring that women have their capacity built for new job opportunities (right from carpentry, masonry, sapling raising, organic pest controller making up to computer related jobs).

For Fishers, Right to livelihood threatening actions (encroachment of fishing areas by mechanized boats and non ecological fishing gears, lack of financial support for non land holding fishers, lack of proper fuel subsidies, lack of transportation for fish hawker women, lack of financial support for them for augmentation of entrepreneurship) and the like are addressed.

Right to Livelihood for adolescent girls who are not able to continue education due to financial conditions  of the family to have justified job opportunity (payment on par with the male workers in the same occupation, protection against ill treatment including sexual harassment) and right to continued earning even if married.

Under right to livelihood for dalit, we help these women to prevent occasions where the livelihood opportunities reduced or denied on social hierarchy basis (low priority to education and employment requiring technically qualified jobs, reduced importance to NREGA that employed unskilled labourers, demand for sexual favours to continue in profession or to have promotion / increment etc).
