Droughts, floods and coastal inundations are caused by climate change. Lack of food
and working opportunities affect women, girl children and trans persons the most.
They are more prone to be exposed to drought and flood-related diseases.
It is important that women, girls children and trans persons were given due
importance in medical attentions on those diseases and preventive education.
Global warming caused by carbon emission creates lungs related diseases and make
world not worthy of living for women, girl children and trans people. It is important
to help them demand use of fossil fuel and be involved in planting and protecting
trees that would reduce carbon foot print.
Coastal Communities are affected a lot due to the sea level rise caused by melting of
glaziers. The rise of sea level causes inundation of coastal belts, taking away the
coast needed for landing beach-based crafts and gear and even houses in some
villages.
This causes reducing of fish catch and fishing possibilities, the major livelihood of the
coastal fisher communities.
The women, girl children and trans people are most affected by this change.
Besides, the schools are away from many coastal communities and that causes
dropout among the children, especially the girl children.
The hawking practice is reduced among fisher women due to transport issues and
health issues as many of them quat by the road. Health facilities, proper marketing
space and alternative livelihood are a must.
