Empower protection of their life, all aspects that threaten their very existence are
taking efforts to be checked: such as domestic violence, dowry harassment, sexual
harassment in public, sexual harassment in the workplace, honor killing and the like
social harassment and ill-treatment are curtailed and women and girl children can go
around freely with confidence.
The 120 trained women leaders (barefoot lawyers) held sessions on these acts
among women factory workers, schooling girls and working women. Huge numbers
of illustrative materials (visual aids) were prepared and distributed by GUIDE team to
the participants of these session and succeeded in creating Internal Complaint
Committees as per the act and that complaints were seriously attended to.
About 38,000 women, girl children and trans have benefited by these activities over
the past couple of decades in the project area of GUIDE.
